Mayweather outshines Gotti once more in Mexico City exhibition boxing rematch | Boxing News

Former world boxing champion Floyd Mayweather showcased his dominance once again in an exhibition fight rematch against John Gotti III, the grandson of the late New York crime boss. The fight, held in Mexico City, saw Mayweather outmatch Gotti throughout the eight-round bout, despite a few moments of confusion with the round-ending bell and the referee leaving the ring mid-fight.

Gotti showed little effort during the match, much to the disappointment of the 22,000-strong audience. Mayweather took control from the beginning, throwing rights at Gotti while his opponent struggled to defend himself. The fight had its share of drama, with a forbidden punch from Mayweather leading to the referee momentarily leaving the ring.

Although Gotti managed to throw a few punches in the later rounds, Mayweather continued to dominate the fight. The match ended without an official winner, as it was an exhibition.

The rematch followed a previous exhibition in South Florida that ended in a brawl between the fighters’ camps. Mayweather, who retired from professional boxing in 2017 with an undefeated record, continues to participate in non-record fights. On the other hand, Gotti, with a background in MMA fights, is the grandson of the infamous John Gotti, former head of the Gambino crime family. Despite the lack of an official winner, Mayweather once again proved his skills in the boxing ring.
