Additionally, in the men’s T54 5,000m, David Weir won the second heat, advancing to the final along with the USA’s Daniel Romanchuk. China secured their 11th gold medal in table tennis doubles, and Di Dongdong set a world record in the men’s T11 long jump.
The USA claimed their first gold medal through Gia Pergolini in the women’s S13 100m backstroke. The competition was fierce in various swimming events, with many world and Paralympic records being broken. Despite fierce competition, the USA has yet to secure a gold medal, with athletes like Petrucio Ferreira dos Santos of Brazil and Ukraine’s Iryna Shchetnik dominating their events.
