Israeli soldiers continue to besiege Jenin as assault on West Bank enters fourth day in Israel-Palestine conflict News

Israel’s military operation in the occupied territory of Jenin has resulted in at least 20 deaths, marking the largest assault on Palestinian territory in over two decades. Reports indicate that access to aid for Palestinians in the besieged refugee camp has been blocked, with residents lacking basic necessities such as food, water, and medical assistance. The armed wing of Hamas has engaged in clashes with Israeli forces in response to the military raids. In addition to the casualties in Jenin, two Palestinians were shot dead in separate incidents in illegal settlements in the West Bank.

The Israeli army claims its goal is to target armed groups and prevent future attacks, with Hamas acknowledging that at least 10 of those killed were its fighters. The destruction left behind by the military incursion has raised concerns among Palestinian residents that the army’s objective is to make the territory uninhabitable and force Palestinians out of their homes.

Meanwhile, tensions remain high in other areas of the West Bank, including Hebron, where Israeli forces have established checkpoints. The ongoing raids in the West Bank, coupled with the conflict in Gaza, have resulted in approximately 600 Palestinian deaths, according to the United Nations. The number of detentions since the beginning of the assault has reached around 70, highlighting the escalating violence and instability in the region.
