Roger O’Donnell, keyboardist for “The Cure,” shared his diagnosis of a rare and aggressive form of lymphoma last year in honor of Blood Cancer Awareness Month. After surgery and 11 months of treatment, he has received a positive prognosis. O’Donnell stressed the importance of early detection and encouraged those experiencing symptoms to get tested as soon as possible. He also emphasized the importance of talking to and supporting those who are sick, mentioning that every word helps. O’Donnell has been a member of “The Cure” since 1987 and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with the band in 2019. Despite his health struggles, he performed with the band during their North American tour last year before having to withdraw from the Latin American tour due to health reasons. O’Donnell’s message serves as a reminder of the importance of early detection and support for those battling cancer.
