Philadelphia Eagles disavow any affiliation with Kamala Harris following the emergence of fake advertisements throughout Philadelphia

A series of counterfeit ads featuring Vice President Kamala Harris in a Philadelphia Eagles uniform holding a football appeared on the streets of Philadelphia on Monday. The NFL team confirmed that the ads were fake and stated that they were working with their advertising partner to have them removed. The ads included a link to a nonpartisan website listing election dates and voter registration resources. Intersection Media, the company that owns the bus stop advertising where the ads were found, stated that the ads were not paid for and were instead forcibly placed into the ad boxes. The physical break-ins were confirmed by a city spokesperson, who clarified that it was not a digital breach. The Eagles and Intersection Media had no involvement in the creation or posting of the unauthorized ads. Fake political ads have also proliferated online, with examples including a Kamala Harris deepfake and AI-generated images of Donald Trump spreading misinformation. Kamala Harris’ campaign did not immediately respond to requests for comment on the counterfeit ads.
