Disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein underwent heart surgery after being moved from a New York City jail to a hospital due to health issues. Weinstein, whose rape conviction was overturned earlier this year, is currently recovering at Bellevue Hospital. He underwent pericardiocentesis surgery to alleviate fluid from his lungs and heart. In July, Weinstein was hospitalized for Covid-19 and pneumonia, among other health conditions including diabetes and high blood pressure. Weinstein has been convicted in New York and Los Angeles for sex offenses, with the New York conviction recently being overturned due to legal errors. A grand jury in New York is considering new charges against Weinstein. Despite allegations from over 80 women, Weinstein maintains that any sexual encounters were consensual.
