Officials are hopeful that progress will be made on the wildfires in California due to the coastal marine influence and lower temperatures. In San Bernardino, Justin Wayne Halstenberg, a delivery driver, has been charged with arson for starting the Line Fire which has burned 37,000 acres. The fire destroyed a home, injured a firefighter and two civilians, and resulted in the evacuation of 5,490 homes. Two men were arrested for suspected looting in the area. In a separate incident southeast of Los Angeles, the Airport Fire has destroyed homes in the Elsinore Mountains and injured at least 10 people. The 23,000-acre blaze is believed to have been caused by sparks from machinery moving boulders to block access to a wilderness area. Halstenberg is currently in jail and does not have an attorney listed.
