Meeks, who played for Kentucky from 2006 to 2009, was a dynamic guard known for his sharpshooting and ability to put up points in bunches. He had a standout junior season in 2008-2009, where he led the Southeastern Conference (SEC) in scoring with an average of 23.7 points per game. This performance earned him first-team All-SEC honors and recognition as an All-American.
In one memorable game against Tennessee in 2009, Meeks scored a school-record 54 points, solidifying his place in Wildcat history. He finished his collegiate career with over 1,200 points and went on to be selected in the second round of the 2009 NBA Draft by the Milwaukee Bucks.
Meeks played 11 seasons in the NBA, suiting up for several teams including the Los Angeles Lakers, Philadelphia 76ers, and Washington Wizards. He retired from professional basketball in 2020 and now works in a player development role with the Toronto Raptors.
