Tammi Menendez’s post criticized the show for its dishonest portrayal of the abuse Erik and Lyle Menendez accused their father of. The show has also faced criticism for suggesting an intimate relationship between the brothers, which is not implied in Robert Rand’s book on the case. The statement posted by Tammi Menendez expressed disappointment in the show’s depiction of the tragedies and called out Ryan Murphy for what they believe to be intentional misrepresentation. The statement also highlighted the impact of violence against children and the progress made in shedding light on childhood trauma. Netflix and Murphy have not publicly responded to the criticism.
