Christian Community Care, a nonprofit organization in Kentucky, is celebrating its 140th anniversary this year. Founded in 1881, the organization has been providing support and services to those in need in the community for over a century.
Initially known as the Christian Women’s Exchange, the organization started by offering assistance to women and children in poverty. Over the years, Christian Community Care has expanded its services to provide a variety of resources to individuals and families facing challenges such as homelessness, hunger, and financial insecurity.
“We are proud to have been serving the community for 140 years,” said the organization’s director, Samantha Jones. “Our mission has always been to help those in need and we are grateful for the support of our volunteers and donors who make our work possible.”
In addition to providing food, clothing, and financial assistance, Christian Community Care also offers educational programs and counseling services to help individuals improve their quality of life. The organization relies heavily on donations and volunteers to continue its mission of serving those in need.
To mark its 140th anniversary, Christian Community Care is planning a series of events and fundraisers throughout the year. The organization is also looking to expand its outreach and services to reach even more individuals and families in need in the community.
“We are excited to celebrate this milestone and look forward to continuing our work for many more years to come,” said Jones. “We are committed to making a positive impact in the community and helping those who are struggling to overcome their challenges.”
