Former President Donald Trump visited a McDonald’s in Pennsylvania to troll Vice President Kamala Harris, whom he accused of lying about working at a McDonald’s to improve her working-class credibility. Trump served fries, over-salting them and taking jabs at Harris. Despite Trump’s claims, Harris did work at a McDonald’s in California during the summer of 1983 while she was a student at Howard University. During his visit, Trump marveled at the packaging of the fries and interacted with customers at the drive-through window, telling them he was paying for their food. The franchise was closed to regular business during his visit. Trump also engaged with reporters, evading questions about raising the federal minimum wage. He was informed it was Harris’ birthday and joked about getting her flowers and fries. Overall, Trump’s visit to the McDonald’s was a way for him to interact with customers, employees, and the media, mixing politics with fast food.
