Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has been revealed as America’s favorite chef, according to a recent survey of 2,000 U.S. adults. Following Ramsay are Rachel Ray, Bobby Flay, Martha Stewart, and Emeril Lagasse among the top five favorites. Americans are even willing to spend around $340 on a three-course meal prepared by their favorite chef, with some willing to spend over $500. The survey also showed that respondents engage with food-related content four days a week on average, with TV shows, cooking websites, and social media being the most popular mediums.
The survey, conducted by Talker Research on behalf of KaTom, explored how food-focused content influences Americans’ cooking habits and purchases. It found that most respondents prefer watching videos of food being prepared, as it inspires creativity in their own kitchens. Additionally, many have purchased kitchen products endorsed by their favorite celebrity chefs, with cookware being the most popular item.
The survey also delved into Americans’ cooking skills and preferences, with many considering themselves chefs in training or sous chefs. Favorite foods include main dish proteins, grilled foods, desserts, and breakfast items, with American, Mexican, and Italian cuisines being the top favorites. While many find their favorite cuisines easy to cook at home, there was a preference for home-cooked meals over dining out.
Overall, the survey highlights the impact of celebrity chefs and food-related content on Americans’ cooking habits and preferences. Whether a seasoned chef or a beginner in the kitchen, having the right tools and inspiration from their favorite chefs plays a significant role in Americans’ culinary experiences.
