The situation at Kamal Adwan hospital in northern Gaza worsened on Tuesday as dozens of casualties arrived following an Israeli airstrike, one of only two remaining doctors stated. The hospital was facing catastrophic shortages of supplies and medical personnel due to weeks of Israeli bombardment. The director of the hospital, Hussam Abu Safiya, described the situation as horrific, with injured individuals arriving continuously, and urged the international community to open a humanitarian corridor for assistance.
Amidst the chaos, allegations of genocide were made against Israel by Abu Safiya, who claimed that what was happening in Gaza amounted to a collective massacre. Israel, however, denied these allegations, stating that they raided the hospital due to “significant fighting” and found weapons and ammunition belonging to Hamas terrorists on the grounds.
Despite the claims, the dire need for medical supplies and personnel at Kamal Adwan hospital remains a critical issue. Abu Safiya stressed the urgent need for assistance, as the limited resources were unable to cope with the constant stream of incoming critically injured patients. The situation continues to deteriorate, with the hospital struggling to provide adequate care to those in need.
