Kentucky men’s basketball team is set to close out their preseason tonight at Rupp Arena against Minnesota State Mankato. The Wildcats, under new coach Mark Pope, dominated their preseason opener, with every scholarship player contributing to a 71-point victory against Kentucky Wesleyan. Senior guard Kerr Kriisa sat out the game with a hamstring injury.
Minnesota State Mankato, a Division II program, is the defending national champion with senior Kyreese Willingham leading the team as the preseason Player of the Year. The Mavericks are coached by Matt Margenthaler, who has led the program for 23 years and boasts an impressive record of 488-211.
The exhibition game between Kentucky and Minnesota State Mankato will not be broadcast on traditional TV channels but can be streamed live on SEC Network+.
