Residents in Campbell County, Kentucky, are eagerly participating in early voting for the upcoming 2024 General Election. With Ohio already allowing early voting since October 8, Kentucky residents are now joining in on the process. The Campbell County Clerk reported that around 2,800 residents have ordered absentee ballots and nearly 650 have already submitted their ballots during the excused in-person voting period that started on October 23.
Reasons for being eligible for excused early voting include medical reasons, travel, or college studies. Campbell County Clerk, Jim Luersen, expressed confidence in handling the expected heavy voter turnout. The staff is well-prepared with experienced poll workers and technology to keep the lines moving smoothly.
Kentucky is still relatively new to the early voting process, but Luersen assured that his team is ready to handle the crowds typical of presidential elections. Despite some confusion among voters regarding the requirements for in-person early voting, residents like Michael Miller and first-time voter Margo Brandenburger are excited to exercise their right to vote early.
Luersen anticipates thousands of residents to participate in early voting at the county’s polling sites over the designated period. The turnout for this election is expected to be high, and residents are encouraged to participate in the early voting process to ensure that their voices are heard on Election Day.
