Mark Pope says Amari Williams is ‘healthy,’ X-rays show no injuries

Amari Williams of the Kentucky Wildcats suffered a leg injury just three minutes into the game against Minnesota State and had to leave the court for testing. Fortunately, initial X-rays came back clear, but further imaging was planned to determine the extent of the injury. Williams, who returned to the bench after spending time on an exercise bike, appears to be on track for a speedy recovery.

In Williams’ absence, Brandon Garrison stepped up with an impressive performance, scoring 12 points on 6-9 shooting, along with contributing in rebounds, assists, blocks, and steals. Coach Mark Pope expressed optimism about Williams’ condition, indicating that he believes the player will be back soon.

With the season opener approaching, all eyes are on Williams’ recovery progress and how the Wildcats will adjust in his absence. Despite the setback, the team showed resilience and depth with Garrison’s strong performance. The Wildcats remain hopeful that Williams will be able to return to the court in time for the regular season, but until then, they will rely on their depth and versatility to continue their winning ways.
