The City of Paintsville and Alley on Main hosted the sixth annual Trunk-or-Treat event on Oct. 28, bringing together community organizations, local officials, and community members for a night of Halloween fun. The event featured spooky train rides, a screening of Hocus Pocus, a dance performance, concessions from Alley on Main and The Highway Cafe, and character shows. GEMS (Gracefully Empowered Motivated Sisters) of Eastern Kentucky organized the event with the goal of providing a safe and enjoyable alternative for kids to trick-or-treat, showcase their costumes, participate in a contest, and collect plenty of treats. The parking lots of the City of Paintsville and Alley on Main were transformed into a festive space where ghouls, goblins, and families could come together to celebrate the Halloween season. Paintsville Tourism also contributed to the event by providing train rides for attendees. The community came out in full force to support the event, ensuring that children had a memorable and enjoyable Halloween experience. The success of the Sixth Annual Trunk-or-Treat event demonstrates the spirit of unity and community that thrives in Paintsville and Eastern Kentucky. As the event came to a close at 8 p.m., participants left with smiles on their faces and bags full of treats, looking forward to next year’s celebration.
