A new crisis alert technology called Centegix has been approved by the Tucson Unified School District board, with unanimous support. This new system equips teachers and staff with a badge featuring a clicker that allows them to quickly report emergencies, summon help, and alert the entire building in case of any danger. TUSD Superintendent Dr. Gabriel Trujillo believes that this new technology represents a significant advancement in the security and safety of students and staff on school campuses.
The Catalina Foothills School District has also voted to adopt this new technology, with Communications Director Julie Farbarik expressing excitement about the implementation. This system is designed to create a safe and responsive environment for students and staff during emergencies, providing peace of mind to families and ensuring that learning can take place in a secure environment.
Parent Jennifer Reyes, who has a child in TUSD, shared her relief knowing that this technology will be introduced in her daughter’s school.
