A $5 million project to replace sixty-year-old water lines in Trigg County has commenced after four years of planning. The Barkley Lake Water District is starting the Lakeside Replacement Project in the Rockcastle area, with contractors beginning work in the Prizer Point area and moving south. Approximately 65,000 feet of 4-inch line will be replaced with PVC pipe that can handle higher water pressure, replacing the district’s original 1960s concrete lines. The project is funded by a $2.5 million grant with the water district contributing the remaining funds. This upgrade is expected to improve water quality and address aging infrastructure issues in the area. Customers in the Rockcastle area will soon benefit from the increased reliability and efficiency of the new water lines. This initiative reflects the commitment of the Barkley Lake Water District to investing in essential infrastructure and ensuring the community’s access to safe and reliable water services for years to come.
