Texas rapper Travis Scott, along with his Cactus Jack Foundation, is set to host the 3rd Annual HBCU Celebrity Softball Classic in collaboration with Project H.E.A.L. The event will take place on February 13 at Daikin Park in Houston, featuring a star-studded lineup of celebrities and legendary baseball players in a Home Run Derby and softball game.
Notable attendees include Manny Ramirez, Robinson Canó, Prince Fielder, Ryan Howard, Barry Bonds, Metro Boomin, C.J. Stroud, Teyana Taylor, Ne-Yo, Swae Lee, Amber Rose, and many more. The event will also honor Scott’s late grandfather, Waymon Webster, through the Waymon Webster Scholarship Fund, which helps HBCU students cover tuition expenses.
Additionally, Scott recently released a new song ‘4×4’ that features performances from Prairie View A&M University Marching Storm and Tennessee State University Aristocrat of Bands, showing his support for HBCUs through music as well. Attendees can expect exclusive Cactus Jack merchandise, autographed memorabilia, raffles, and prizes at the event.
Leading up to the Celebrity Softball Classic, the Cactus Jack Foundation Community Action Week will take place from February 11, featuring community-based activities throughout the city, including a youth clinic at the Astros Youth Academy and a pop-up lab at the Cact.Us Design Center. The event will also include the Cactus Jack Social Impact Village, providing resources for attendees on-site. Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Waymon Webster Scholarship Fund, highlighting Scott’s commitment to supporting HBCUs and their students.
