Hazlet residents are eagerly anticipating the opening of a new Wellness Centre in downtown Hazlet. The centre, taking over a space previously owned by Jordanco Oils Ltd, will offer gym equipment and space for working out. Volunteers have been busy painting and renovating the area to make it usable.
Mayor Tara Dewar announced that the Village of Hazlet has secured funding through the New Horizons for Seniors Program for the new Wellness Centre. The funding, although the exact amount remains undisclosed, will help support the purchase of gym mats and new flooring.
The Hazlet Wellness Board, made up of local volunteers, is working hard to make the space look good and functional. Dewar mentioned a possible fundraiser, such as Fund a Mat, to further support the Centre’s needs.
The Wellness Centre is expected to open in February, after some delays in the initial plan to open in January. Community members interested in volunteering or getting involved can contact the Village of Hazlet on Facebook for more information. An upcoming Facebook page dedicated to the Wellness Centre will provide updates on memberships and building renovations.
The new Hazlet Wellness Centre aims to provide a space for residents to improve their physical well-being and promote a healthy lifestyle. Stay tuned for more details on its official opening and offerings.
