Stacey Williams, a former Sports Illustrated swimsuit model, accused Donald Trump of groping her while Jeffrey Epstein watched, during an encounter at Trump Tower in the 1990s. Williams recounted the assault on a Zoom call and expressed her decision to speak out was partially influenced by the upcoming election. Despite Trump’s campaign denying the allegation, seven individuals who knew Williams found her credible and consistent. Williams disclosed that Epstein blamed her following the assault, causing her humiliation and confusion.
Although Williams never reported the incident to the authorities, she shared the details with friends and acquaintances over the years. The post-assault postcard she received from Trump further added to her feelings of shame and self-blame. Williams never encountered Trump again and cut off contact with Epstein shortly after the incident. Her decision to speak out was fueled by a documentary she participated in, as well as the approaching Woodstock Film Festival premiere.
The timing of Williams’ accusation against Trump, just before the election, raises parallels to previous allegations of sexual misconduct against him. Trump has faced multiple accusations of sexual assault from various women, which he has consistently denied. Williams expressed a growing comfort in sharing her story over time and emphasized the lasting impact of sexual assault on individuals. Her decision to speak out aligns with her support for Kamala Harris and her mission to prevent Trump from returning to the White House.
